Data Migration

What we did

The client had experienced a failed data migration projet into the Salesforce platform, resulting in storing data across three different systems.

The client was trying to move, extract, transform and load data using spreadsheets. The complexity of this approach resulted in inefficiency and errors where data also was immediately out of date.

Our approach was to automate the extraction of data via the source tables in the legacy systems, this completed the transformation and load successfully with real-time data. The creation of over 100 automated scripts enabled a significant reduction in timescales, by moving the data over a weekend and fully testing the outputs allowed the business to fully trust the data set.

The Benefits

The client was able to release resources from the data migration and focus on validating the outputs while we took ownership of the migration and cutover plan. The project was conducted from beginning to end within 3 months and all transactions were accounted for with a successful reconciliation of all customer accounts.
